STEM CELL RESEARCH or CRYING FOOLS OF SUMMERLAND?

It is great to have a guest speaker coming to Summerland to chat on SMART GROWTH. I would like to suggest that the interested people of Summerland who take this issue to heart also take time to explore and see if your Council is also concerned with the same issue.
Hopefully the majority of people in Summerland are ploughing through the Municipal Council/Agenda & Minutes along with the Works & Utilities minutes. These adopted minutes are available to the interested public on our Municipal Web Site: htt://www.dist.summerland.bc.ca/ great little search cells are available in both of these areas.
Just a small example of what you might find: sewer plans and bylaws passed. You will see a plan of strategy coming forth that will afford future assaults on Prime Agricultural Lands and Parks, along with precedent setting events that are now taking place.
My questions to the CAO and other senior staff members stem from the review of Council and Works & Utilities Minutes. Better yet, bring your heads to the empty chambers upstairs at the Municipal Hall. A cheap night out at center stage may not be enough to produce the effects and information that may be provided at such an event. Your town is now being shaped in the chambers! The Official Community Plan is being rewritten with every move that our elected council makes now. Crying when the chamber pot spills may not produce a quick clean up. Why should council change the path of their intended course when we the people have not taken the time to be informed? Are we the crying fools of Summerland? Information is power. Let’s chase it!
    Regards,
    Caroline
